Natural Health Writing – the Need of the Hour?
Today, with more and more people taking a keen interest in natural health and natural remedies, the time has come for natural health writing to also come of age. Time was when looking for alternative therapies and simple natural health tips would probably mean going through tomes of very stuffy boring books and trying to sift out the nuggets that made sense to you. Cut to today when the Internet is full of so many natural health sites. Suddenly, health, such an important topic is being dealt with not with a sober demeanor but with simplicity, with sensibility and even with a touch of humor.
Does this mean that all natural health writing is gospel? Far from it. What I mean to deal with here is to look at how the style of writing has changed to fit in with today’s world. The content I do not presume to comment upon. There was a very clear divide in how medical problems were addressed in days gone by. Doctors spoke in a language different from the rest of the world, a language filled with jargon, which only another doctor or a pharmacist would understand. The Internet seems to have ripped that veil asunder and everyone, but everyone who has anything to do with health seems to be on the bandwagon of getting down to the grassroots level to be understood.
It probably started with the interest in natural health. From the kitchen shelf, to a little more knowledge about herbs and spices. Those sites on the Internet have changed the way not just how natural health writing is done, but how health writing as a whole is looked at. With so little time and so much to do, if you are obtuse, you get left out. So natural health writing, as well as most health writing on the Internet seems to be coming of age and coming down to the common man’s level.

Does anyone know of a good UK dropshipper that I can use to sell health supplements like creatine etc?
I’m looking to sell health supplements on my own auction website and was wondering if anybody knows of a good dropshipper or reseller program that I can use for this please.
Thanks
As a UK supplements supplier, I would say that you would be better off finding a less saturated market, as you will struggle to make more than a couple of quid profit per week, although you are more likely to make a loss. Also, to obtain a trade account with a supplier, you would need to sell larger amounts, meaning you would have to buy in bulk, with the possibility that items don’t sell and go out of date.
It is also very difficult to get trade accounts with supplements manufacturers now (there are many in the UK – i.e. Reflex, CNP, etc.), as most now only set up trade accounts with people who own shops or gyms, or the best websites. Part of the applications usually ask for your company number, VAT number, projected sales, number of employed staff, etc. Saying you just want to sell on Ebay will not get you an account.
If you decide you want to set up your own company with a website selling online, then you need to be aware that even if you buy an e-commerce website template for as little as £99, you will still need to spend around £360 a year on a good hosting package, £100 a year on SSL certificates, £1500+ a year on accountancy/company returns, £1000s on website tweaks, upgrades, payment gateway set-up, etc. and then to get anywhere online in competitive industries, you would need to spend £2000/month on SEO. Not to mention that you would need to work 70 hour weeks and need help from at least 3 people, doing similar hours!!! But, you would need to work full time on a big salary to afford this… so how do you do it? One option would be to save a 25% deposit for all of the above, quit your day job, get a business loan for the rest and go for it! That would be very risky though! Also, you would have to be prepared to learn web design basics (html, css), seo, accountancy, hmrc tax/vat/PAYE requirements, company law, e-commerce regs, … the list is endless and it results in a lot stress and pressure, although if you find the right market and put the work in consistently for a couple of years, then it it can really pay off. I would say that you have missed the boat with the supplements though unfortunately.
If you are simply trying to get supplements cheaper for yourself and flog some to your mates, to make a bit of profit, then I would suggest you simply make a large order from a website like my own to receive a bigger discount. You are welcome to send me a message using the ‘contact us’ page of my website, letting me know what products you require and I will get back to you within 48 hours with a discounted price.

Why do we associate brown skin with health?
It’s true – People with olive skin, brown skin and very dark skin look amazingly healthy, despite their wieght.
Even if we know it’s most likely a fake tan on an otherwise fair person, tanned people look so much healthier and more attractive than a fair person with pink pigment, despite their known health ailments.
What is this phenomenon?
Perhaps it’s because people generally associate paleness of skin with iron deficiency anemia.
